: Castle of Christ ::

I'm backdating my stuff and looking for scrapbooking potential in photos. This camp was a memorable one for me because it was born out of difficult times and the Lord saw us through. It was also a camp where I learnt the most from studying and teaching God's Word to the children. It's interesting that the truths that were taught to the children always bounces back to me as well. Such simple but sometimes profound truths that we need to live out everyday. I want to look back and remember all these lessons God has taught me, to live it out now.
God's glory is always the issue.

:: Children's Camp 2008 [Part 4] ::

I'm really taking my time with camp updates because I've been catching up with time at home and with family. It's great to be able to spend quiet and peaceful times with David and Hannah again. Here's the photos for now :) No photos for Day 2 because my camera ran out of battery.

Children's Camp Committee Planning Meeting

Children's Camp Workers Lunch Treat

1 Timothy 4:12
"
Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers

in word, in conduct, in love,
in spirit, in faith, in purity."

The process of camp planning and preparation was indeed a difficult process this year. We had to walk by faith one day, one week at a time as the camp date approached. No presumptions could be made, and we sought the Lord's leading to see this camp to its fruition.

2 Timothy 2:2
"And the things that you have heard
from me among many witnesses,
commit these to faithful men
who will be able to teach others also."

David and I were truly blessed this camp to be able to work with a bunch of youths in the camp committee who loved the Lord, a faithful bunch who encouraged us greatly by their zeal and labour in the Lord. As we ploughed through item by item, its purpose, the plans and the needs of the children, they soldiered on meeting after meeting with us.
Dear youths, you are truly very dear to our hearts and it was such a blessing to spend 4 whole days with you, meeting late into the night so we could reach all our new friends this camp. All of you have talents that the Lord can use for His glory. Hold dearly the truths we have learnt together this week. Our desire is that you will continue to be faithful, abounding in the work of the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58), teach others also (as you have been taught) and someday be able to plan a children's camp on your own! Hold the flag high and trudge on as a good soldier of Christ!
Jude "20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction;23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
25 To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen. "

Just some important truths that the children learnt over 4 days:
  1. We were created to glorify God
  2. We can glorify God through our words, thoughts and actions
  3. To glorify God is to reveal the excellence of God
4 wonderful truths about God
  • There is no one who has wisdom like God does
  • There is no one as loving as God is
  • There is no one as trustworthy as God is
  • There is no one as holy as God is

:: Children's Camp 2008 [Part 1] ::

We just broke camp 2 hours ago. As the camp ended, I really marvel at how God has been faithful each step of the way. To God be the glory! Will write another time. I'm in great need of rest and time with family.

:: BFC Pockey Points ::

David and I have also been busy with setting up some exciting structures for Children's Church. After brainstorming several possible themes (e.g. trees? armour? flowers?), we decided to try Joann's suggestion brought up awhile ago - porcupines!

Here's a little intro into it. Thank God for Joann's help in this, which has saved me a sleepless night :)

This was introduced to the kids last Sunday. This Sunday, many made an effort to come to church on time (some even had to nag their parents!), all of them brought their Bibles :) and 2 could recite last week's memory verse. So the kids had an average of 3-5 pokey points today. It takes alot of reinforcement to get this to work. Most importantly, it is our desire that the children remember to honour the Lord in all that they are doing. More updates to come!
